BlackRock's Larry Fink explains why investors struggle with market volatility π€
I consume a lot of financial news.
I have subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and The New York Times. I have Bloomberg Radio and TV on in the mornings and CNBC on in the afternoons. I constantly refresh the Yahoo Finance homepage. I subscribe to dozens of daily newsletters. And when the markets close, I listen to business podcasts and watch video clips on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
I do not recommend this behavior for most long-term investors.
Why?
For starters, news is a business incentivized to address your interests as a reader and not necessarily your needs as an investor. And your interests and your needs arenβt always in line.
In markets news specifically, thereβs also a time horizon mismatch between news providers and investors.
