President Trump believes public companies shouldn’t be required to report their financial performance quarterly β€” but rather on a six-month basis.

β€œThis will save money and allow managers to focus on properly running their companies,” Trump argued on Monday.

This comes a week after the Wall Street Journal reported that the Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE) planned to petition the SEC to make such changes to its financial reporting requirements.

β€œ[LTSE] says the idea would save companies millions of dollars and allow executives to focus on long-term goals instead of worrying about hitting quarterly targets or prepping for earnings calls,” WSJ reported.

I’m not convinced this effort will gain traction. This would be a massive change for both businesses and investors.
