SEC Chairman Paul Atkins told CNBC the regulatory agency would propose a rule change requiring public companies to report financial results every six months instead of every quarter.
This comes days after President Trump called for the rule change, arguing that this would allow managers to focus on longer-term goals, which in turn should help boost profitability and shareholder value.
